If you go to Iceland you have to try out ice climbing on a glacier. All of our guides are local, professional mountain guides. We try to find three different areas climb on. We start with an easy ice wall to teach you basic skills to ice climb. Our guides tailor the climbs to suit you. You don’t have to know anything about climbing or be super fit to do this tour, this is a introduction tour so you don’t have to be afraid to try this out. What is Ice climbing? ice climbing is a sport/ activity that let you climb vertical ice walls and explore places you never thought existed. Our guides will also show you the wonders of the glacier, such as crevasses and moulins. What is a crevasse and moulins? crevasse is a crack on the glacier that is created by movement of the glacier. Moulins are water tunnel that goes vertical in to the glacier. This is perfect tour to see the glacier and try out some ice climbing with a local guide.

The geothermal energy exhibition provides an amazing opportunity for guests to learn more about how the famous Icelandic sustainable energy is produced. Guests will also learn about our partnership with Carbfix, one of the leading solutions for the climate crisis through CO2 storage. The power plant is one of the largest single-site geothermal plants in the world, and is located in a beautiful area surrounded by mountains and lava. There are several locations inside the exhibition for visitors to view stunning Icelandic landscapes year-round while enjoying a cup of coffee or other light refreshments (available to purchase on-site). This is a perfect first stop along the route to the southern region of the country, and there are excellent hiking paths nearby. This entry ticket is for a self-guided audio tour, available as an app to download onto your smart phone. Lava Centre Interactive Volcano Exhibition
At the high-tech interactive Lava Centre exhibition you will learn about the birth and growth of Iceland as one of the world’s largest volcanic islands. It has risen during millions of years from the submarine North Atlantic Ridge, through countless volcanic eruptions. They occur as a large mantle plume locally adds molten rock to the magma up-flow beneath the rifting segments that line this ridge. The spreading along the ridge results in the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates moving apart 20 kilometres every million years, a fingernail a year. Interact with the volcanoes and feel the trembling of the earthquakes. A fantastic movie displaying the latest eruptions in Iceland and a beautiful observation deck round up a visit not to miss.
