Surf Safari & Glamping Weekend in Cornwall
Our overnight Surf & Wild Camp weekends in Cornwall are designed for those wanting to soak up a whole weekend of surfing and unwind in our woodland wild camp. A fantastic introduction to everything surfing and much more than just a series of surf lessons, we’ll cover both surfing basics & surf theory before kicking back in our private Cornish woodland wild camp.
Private Stand-Up-Paddle Tour on the River Gannel
The Gannel estuary is a wildlife haven, situated between Newquay and Crantock it long existed as a hideaway for smugglers but has now been taken over by numerous birds and other species. As the tide floods in and people disappear you are left with the beautiful tranquility of birdsong and the iridescent colours of the sands below. This truly is a Cornish gem that cannot be beaten for sunrise or sunset when the suns glow cascades across the water.
Guided Heritage Walking Tour in Newlyn
This tour is a guided walk around Newlyn’s historic port and town, led by archaeologist Jeanette Ratcliffe, who is part of the local community. Situated in the northwest corner of Mount’s Bay, protected from the prevailing westerly winds, Newlyn originated as a seasonal fishing settlement. After surviving a Spanish raid of 1595, its fortunes rose dramatically, as a centre for the Cornish pilchard fishery. Boosted by the 19th century arrival of the railway, Newlyn grew into the largest fishing port in Cornwall, with its economy still today heavily based on fish. Newlyn is also famous for its late 19th – early 20th century Newlyn School of Artists – painters working in the ‘plein air’ style attracted to the town’s spectacular natural setting and the ‘picturesque’ quality of its people and streetscapes. Newlyn’s continuation as a premier fishing port, alongside being a base for local artists and art-loving visitors, makes it a uniquely special place.
Paddleboard Mini Lesson from Newquay
We have a couple of great locations for our Paddleboard activity depended on the conditions of the day. We will either head to the infamous Newquay Beach, Towan or head to a more sheltered water area known as The Gannel. The location will be communicated to you on the day of the activity. You will still meet us at our base in Newquay for both locations.
Private Two on One Surf Lesson in Newquay (2 students, 1 instructor)
This Private Two on One Surf lesson is ideal if you are looking for an intensive learning process for you and a friend or relative. The lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have already had lessons and are looking to improve. Ideally you would both be at a similar level for the coaching to be wholly effective. NOTE - when booking this, please only select 1 participant for the pricing to be accurate. The price is £160 for 2 people, not £160 per person! You will be met at the surf school by the coach, who will assess both your surfing experience and tailor the lesson to your current abilities. These lessons give lots of instruction and assistance over a short period of time, so ideal if you are looking to accelerate the learning process. • All equipment is included: wetsuits, surfboards and boots and gloves if its in the colder months • Use of the Escape Surf School facilities including hot showers and changing rooms • The lesson is 2 hours long

This private surf lesson is ideal if you are looking for an intensive learning process. The lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have already had lessons and are looking to improve. You will be met at the surf school by the coach, who will assess your surfing experience and tailor the lesson to your current ability. The Mid Cornwall Mines and Gunpowder Works offer a glimpse into Cornwall's history. We step away from the crowded coastal villages and explore the fascinating history of Cornwall industry and mining heritage along the Kennal and Carnon rivers. We visit mines across Mid Cornwall and explore the eerie woodland of Kennal Vale where the disused gunpowder works with stories of explosions being heard all the way from Falmouth.
7-Day Rosamunde Pilcher Shell Seekers Cycling Tour in Cornwall
This self-guided cycling holiday based in Cornwall will allow you to explore the locations from the popular Rosamunde Pilcher novel, The Shell Seekers as well as some of the filming locations of the popular German Television adaptation. It will take you to the area where the author grew up as well as the stunning Lamorna Cove. This tiny fishing village also starred in what’s considered Rosamunde Pilcher’s most famous work. You will also have the opportunity to explore various spots as detailed in Rosamunde Pilcher’s classic novels including St Michael's Mount and much more!

Daily Beginner Surf Hire
As the only surf hire based on Fistral Beach and the UK's largest dedicated surf hire you can be confident that we have the correct equipment for you. Open all year we have a fantastic selection of wetsuits and boards for all abilities. You need not worry about your belongings as these can be left with the surf hire while you are out enjoying the waves. Being based on the beach means that throughout the day you can drop the equipment off, and pick it back up as you like.
