One minute you’ll be clambering up through a hole in the rock called Smeagol’s Perch, then leaping out into the middle of its crystal blue plunge pool. It’s our very own ‘under the radar’ secret spot, so you won’t see any other coasteer groups down there, just plenty of natural wildlife and even some friendly seals!

This course is perfect for beginners looking for an introduction to surfing, or just a quick surfing fix! This is a 2 hour surfing lesson, tailored to your ability For students on a first lesson your coach will introduce all of the skills and techniques necessary to surf with control and safety. Soon enough you will be riding the waves with style! If you have already surfed, you can then use this session to build on more advanced techniques, including paddling, turning and reading the ocean. We meet at Escape Surf School, in Newquay, which is located overlooking Towan beach on the premises of Belushis / St Christophers Inn.

Under the watchful eye of our expert instructor, you’ll work as a team to navigate craggy coastlines, cliffs, caves and currents. Throughout the tour, our passionate guides will be on hand to give you a fascinating insight into Newquay’s mythical past as well as helping you spot interesting marine wildlife. After exploring Newquay’s coastal landscape and mastering some basic moves, you’ll moor up your Super SUP for a variety of hilariously fun games. These include the appropriately titled King of the SUP, Sumo SUP and, of course, a bit of classic SUP racing!
