This photo workshop focuses primarily on black and white, high contrast photography in the urban environment - sometimes color shots are recommended depending on the situation.

We’ll explore a few of these cool locations and learn about how to create images that incorporate geometry, shadows, reflections, silhouettes and leading lines.

During the workshop I'll be offering tips and advice about photography composition, use of light and capturing the moment with your camera.

Every neighborhood in Tokyo has its own distinct flavor, so maybe try zoom in on one of these microcosms and absorb its unique sights and sounds. Maybe you’d like to discover the highlights of the neighborhood you’re staying in, or simply stroll through the lantern-lined lanes of Tokyo’s older districts.

Along the way you will slurp down ramen noodles, nibble yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) from a street food stall or eat pick up sushi from a department store and head tot he nearest park for a picnic. Just bring your stretchy pants!
