This day trip will start with a brief city tour in the bustling heart of Port of Spain, Trinidad’s capital. Enjoy the scenic North Coast Road to Maracas Beach, with a stop at the Maracas Lookout for panoramic views and photo opportunities. Trying some local snacks here is a must. At the beach you can relax, swim or take a walk along the sandy shores, even taste the world-famous Bake and Fish. Next, the tour will visit the mysterious Caroni Wetlands. Avocat Waterfall is absolutely beautiful. An easy hike along the river, which makes it accessible to even the non hiker, practically anyone. When you get there, you experience a powerful waterfall that cause an updraft of wind which blows your mind. A beautiful pool for swimming, shallow and deep sides.Hiking up rivers, climbing through uncharted rain forests where your leader follows only his knowledge of the forests. While walking you will see, experience and learn of the natural history of this magnificent rainforest. The walk ends at the seventy-foot waterfall, where swimming in the small pool at the base of the falls is our objective. Relax while getting a natural massage as you sit at the foot of the falls.

Your beach hop experience includes drives through lush forests, sea views, quaint little villages, some history, lots of Instagram worthy moments, and good fun.

Soon after leaving Port of Spain the roadway becomes very country-like, with buildings being replaced by lush forest vegetation. Along the way, the tour will be stopping off at various points with vistas where you can take advantage of the photographic opportunities. You can also get some local snacks to enjoy as well as some great local food, including our famous bake and shark at the very popular Maracas Bay. After a brief rest, your drive continues with further stops at a couple of scenic and very quiet beaches up the coast where you can enjoy a little solitude and enjoy their wild beauty. Your last stop on the beach hopping experience is at a very quiet and clear river as it flows lazily to the Caribbean Sea; a perfect ending to the day!

A two hour drive along the scenic North Coast past the villages of Maracas & Blanchisseuse will bring us to the starting point of the hike: a tiny village in the remote rainforest. This hike is easy and takes approximately 45 minutes one way. You hike along and inside a shallow river to the most amazing waterfall of approximately 65 ft, with a large plunge pool for bathing. After some relaxing time on the big rocks or a refreshing bath - with a nice head-massage from the falls - you then return to the base. Basic changing facilities are provided. You are then taken to the popular Maracas Beach for a delicious "Bake & Fish" sandwich (not included in cost) and another swim (optional).

Enjoy the scenic drive with views of the Caribbean Sea and a brief stop at the Maracas Lookout where you can purchase local sweets and snacks (not included) before continuing on to Maracas Beach. At the beach there are chair and umbrella rentals if you so wish and you may indulge in our famous bake and shark sandwich together with one of our local beers or other local beverages. The highlight of this tour is the warm blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
