The idyllic emerald green Lake Königssee is located in southeastern from the state Bavaria, in South of Germany. It lies at the foot of the famous Mount Watzmann in the heart of the Berchtesgaden Alpine National Park.

In the evening, just some minutes away from the lake, we visit the Berchtesgaden salt mine. It is in continuous operation since 1517. Dressed like in the old times of mining gear, you begin the exciting tour through the salt mountain by riding in on the mine train. To the highlights we count the miners’ slides, a raft ride across the subterranean “Mirror Lake,” and the Salt Cathedral.

This private day tour from Munich truly gives you the best of Tegernsee. A mountain river leads us up the slopes from the village of Tegernsee. After a 2 hour ascent, we reach a rocky little summit with a cute chapel where amazing vistas over the mountains of the Mangfallgebirge and the lake await.
