You will have the opportunity to learn the etiquette and rules of the tea ceremony, as well as to drink the tea you prepare - complemented by a local snack.

This calligraphy workshop focuses on creating text related to the surrounding hot spring region of Beppu. Participants can learn how to write words such as '温泉' - 'onsen' (meaning 'hot spring') and '地獄' - 'jigoku' (meaning 'hell'), under the guidance of a friendly local instructor. The ecological characteristics of Japanese honeybees and comparisons between Japanese honeybees and Japanese and Western honeybees are very interesting and provide an opportunity to learn about new honey attractions. Note: From November to early April, the bees are confined to their hives and can only be seen in the apiary. It is not possible to observe the inside of the hive. Mt. Yufu Grassland Private Hiking and Lunch
This guided tour and lunch experience lets you discover the secrets of the beautiful Yufudake landscape. In order to control pests, preserve the landscape and encourage the growth of new shoots, wild burning is carried out around March on Mt Yufudake. Experienced pastoral cooperatives set fire to dead awn and other plants, and the entire area is covered in black after the burning. Afterwards, flowers and grasses sprout, and by early May the landscape of fresh green Mt Yubudake can be seen. The landscape changes throughout the year, with greenery covering the area in summer and golden awns shining in autumn and winter. This unique landscape and ecosystem is maintained by the local pastoral cooperative and volunteers who burn the fields. A minimum of 4 people is required to book this tour.
