Yufuin Histric Water Way was constructed 300+ years ago by a local hero , Sansuke Kudo. It is still important water source for the farmers in Yufu city. We will be sharing the story of Sansuke while you enjoy packrafting through caves , shrine , a secret waterfall , bamboo forest , and lovely views of the village. Before Sansuke built the Water way, people in this area were in trouble to get enough water for fields, because this area has many mountains and valley. Hero Sansuke decided to build this water way when he was 15 years old. Japan was divided into small groups called " Han" which was like small country in Edo period, strictly prohibited to go trough each other. Of course, there were no big machine 300+ years ago. How Sansuke made it possible to built this special water way? You can explore the water way listening this interesting story. Sansuke is still famous local hero, People dance "Sansuke dancing" on festival with gratitude.
