Yoshino Full Day Cycling + Hiking Tour
A full day tour which takes into account all that the amazing mountain town of Yoshino has to offer. Made for those who love cycling, hiking, and exploring historical sites. Description: Ride along the scenic Yoshino river, past lumber yards, ancient shrines, and small mountain settlements as you make your way to the hidden valley of Kisadani. Hike up the Manyo no Michi path, an area whose beauty is written about in Japan’s oldest collection of poetry. After a stop at Takataki Waterfall, make the ascent through the forest to the mountain temple district of Yoshinoyama and visit Kinpusen-ji Zao-do Hall, a base for Shugendo mountain worship for over 1,300 years. Heijyo-Kyo is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the ancient capital of Nara. Travelers will explore the ruins, restored buildings, envoy ship, Japanese garden, museums, tomb etc. by bicycle. You will get the opportunity to know the history, culture, and lives of people 1,300 years ago along with beautiful scenery. When biking around the palace site you will enjoy the view of central Nara city including Todaiji-Temple, Nigatsu-do Hall, Wakakusa mountain，Ikoma mauntain from the distance. A nationally qualified tourist guide will take you to the ancient capital of Japan with easy-to-understand commentary. World Heritage Hiking
Walking in a World Heritage area ～the Hatenashi Pass on the Koheji route connecting Mount Koya and Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. The Koheji, one of the Kumano Kodo routes, has been used for centuries as a path, through steep mountains, connecting Mount Koya and Kumano. Trekking this route from Kumano Hongu to Totsukawa offers an opportunity to fully appreciate nature, with many beautiful sites, including Hatenashi hamlet, the so-called Tenku no Sato (Village in the Sky), and old paved paths. Of course, we wold be happy to advise if you would like us to help you arrange a different course. *This is a 1-night, 2-day trip where you will interact with local people and feel true Japanese culture.
