Adventure to the Benagil Caves on a Family Friendly Catamaran - Start at Lagos
Join us for a fabulous Adventure to Benagil and lose yourself in the picturesque landscape of the Algarve coastline. With its rugged cliffs and fabulous beaches and caves. Enjoy this 2h30min Adventure on board our large luxury comfortable and family friendly Catamaran, suited to all ages and wheelchair accessible, with toilets, sun cover ample room to walk around, featuring our purposely constructed bow viewing platform, for incredible views form different angles especially inside the large Benagil sea cave. After admiring the coastline and all the caves, 20 minutes are set aside for a little swimming at a designated area at Benagil.
Benagil Cave by Boat + Carvoeiro + AlgarSeco Caves by Minivan from Lagos
After being picked up at your hotel or accommodation in the Lagos area, we will take a minivan to Carvoeiro Beach where you will board one of the typical boats to enjoy a fantastic coastal cruise to visit the Benagil Cave and also Marinha Beach. The tour lasts 1h15min. Then we will go through the Algarseco boardwalk, which gives us the opportunity to photograph the colorful cliffs. At the end of the boardwalk we will visit the Grotto "A DOLL" where there is a window to the sea with two arches. In this area of Algarseco you also have the opportunity to see the natural pools that form in the holes in the cliffs and fill with sea water during high tide.
Swim and Chill at Benagil
###On the 10th of September the powers that be decided to ban access to the Benagil cave for swimmers, kayaks and SUPS. ### This is not a boat trip. We at Vagabundo Travel are the only tour that gets you inside the Benagil cave. We get inside the cave by swimming 60m around the coastline with boards, life vests and inflatables. Boats will drive by, but a photo from the boat is only half an experience, we get you inside the cave and get sand on your toes. The swim into the cave does require a moderate level of swimming ability, we always have guides to help with the swim, but we can't swim for you. For an additional cost you can hire a SUP board or kayak to help you into the cave. The swim is dependent on weather conditions. On the odd occasion, waves at Benagil mean the lifeguards put up either a yellow or red flag and we are not permitted to swim into the cave. We will endeavor to inform you if this is the case prior to your booked trip.
Kayak Experience in Ponta da Piedade
Explore Ponta da Piedade and its hidden spots only accessible by kayak, led by the most friendly and qualified guides. This is the most environmentally friendly way to explore this breathtaking coast! The adventure starts at Marina de Lagos. You board on our catamaran "Freddie II" and head to Ponta da Piedade. On the way our experienced and friendly crew will run the safety briefing where they share with you the tips to handle the kayak more smoothely through the rock formations. After it you are ready to get into the water through a comfortable platform on the back of the catamaran with all the help of the crew: Ready to go! After we leave the Marina our experienced crew will seek the cetaceans like the Common Dolphin (Delphinus delphis) and Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops Truncatus) and others. As we are talking about wild animals we can not guarantee the success of sighting. (Average sucess rate: 90%) In case of failure in the sighting of dolphins we do not refund.
