Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle & Culloden Battlefield Shore Excursion
This tour takes in all the "Must See" attractions and destinations in and around Inverness. A day of historic sights, epic views and tall tales awaits! We enjoy lovely views of the Beauly Firth as we head to Beauly Priory. Originally built in the 13th century by monks from Dijon, France, much of the main structure remains. From here we'll head over the hill to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy exploring this fascinating landmark whilst admiring the unrivalled views of Loch Ness. We then pass through Old Inverness, stopping to enjoy the river and more, before heading for Cawdor Castle & Gardens and the 4000 year old Clava Cairns. Our final destination is Culloden Battlefield, site of the last ever battle fought on British soil and where the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion came to its tragic end. If you have a specific interest in one or more of these landmark destinations, please do let us know and we can adjust our schedule and route accordingly.
From Invergordon to Loch Ness , Inverness , Cawdor Castle + More
This tour can be customised. Departing from Invergordon port we travel along the shore of the Cromarty Firth and cross the Cromarty bridge to the Black Isle and make our way to Beauly Priory , the 13th century Monastery built for an order of Valliscaulian monks from Dijon in France and destroyed by Cromwells forces in the 16th Century. We will then make a brief stop to see some Highland Cattle (see photo) before we carry on over Culnakirk Hill to Drumnadrochit and visit Urquhart Castle which sits on a promontory jutting out in to Loch Ness , the views of the Loch are fantastic from here and it was near here where St Columba is reputed to have seen the Loch Ness Monster. We then head towards Inverness and as we come in to Inverness we pass the Hill of the Fairies. We stop to see The Old High Church and we pass Inverness Castle and the statue of Flora Macdonald before we travel out to Clava Cairns and have lunch at Cawdor Castle before concluding our tour at Culloden Battlefield.

This is your day if you choose to spend more time at a location or would like to add something else in let us know we have chosen locations we believe offer the best parts that influenced inspired the creation of Outlander and that are open all year round some other tours locations may not always be available such as castle leoch (leod) . This tour does not include admissions to urquhart Castle or Fort george
Private Driving tour from Invergordon Port to Dunrobin Castle
This is a private and exclusive tour for you and your friends from Invergordon Port. We start our tour by taking a scenic drive north over the Struie road to the viewpoints overlooking the Dornoch Firth. The second viewpoint has been described as The Millionaires View. Continuing on we head in to the county of Sutherland and stop at The Falls of Shin where we may see some Atlantic salmon leaping the falls. We continue driving along the firth to Golspie and Dunrobin Castle , this is the largest castle in the north of Scotland and is the ancestral home of the Sutherland clan , we see a very impressive Falconry Display here. After leaving Dunrobin we drive to Loch Fleet National Nature reserve where we have the opportunity to see seals and otters and various seabirds and waders. It is a short drive from Loch Fleet to the lovely little town of Dornoch where we visit the Cathedral and stop for lunch. Heading back towards Invergordon we may stop at Glenmorangie Distillery for a tasting.
Private Car Tour to See Coos, Canals, A Castle & Maybe Nessie!
Experience Loch Ness with this private car 4.5-hour tour from Invergordon. This circular tour takes in the scenery of Loch Ness, along with a beautiful return drive through the Highland countryside. This half-day tour includes a 50-minute boat trip on Loch Ness. There are fantastic views of the dramatic Urquhart Castle. It's also the part of Loch Ness that has the most sightings of Nessie! There's a stop to see some Highland Coos (those lovely shaggy coated cows), plus a shopping stop to get some Nessie souvenirs. This tour is in my private car - it's an older, but much loved BMW 3 series with leather seats and air conditioning. I'm also your guide. I love showing people my adopted home, the Highlands, where I've lived for 20 years. (I only have 3 seats and there is only 1 of me so I can only accept 1 booking at a time for 1 tour - no matter what anyone else says) You can extend this tour for an extra £40 per hour.
