The Mayan Ruins of Chacchoben are the most popular and visited attraction to spend a great day on the Costa Maya. It is approximately 55 minutes by car from the Port of Costa Maya. This site is located a few kilometers from the town of Chacchoben from which its name is derived. The translation of the Mayan word "Chacchoben" refers to "The Place of Red Corn." The structures at this site are characterized by large temples and enormous platforms dating back to 700 AD. c.

You will spend aprox 2hrs with our Master Chef learning about essentials of a Mexican Kitchen, how to use different ingredients, what it takes a fresh guacamole and also You’ll learn the art of making the best Margaritas. You will have your own cooking station. After the class you’ll have the choice to relax and enjoy the rest of the day on our comfortable Pool. Towels will be provided by the Resort for your use at the pool. You do not have to worry about the time, we take care of being aware of the departure time of the cruise, even so we are only 1 block away from the cruise port.

Our friendly and professional staff cares -as much as operation allows- about divers' individual needs and preferences. We do not have a maximum diving time other than air consumption and no deco limit. Count on us to enjoy your experience to the fullest. Here in Mahahual/Costa Maya we have 5 different underwater landscapes and dive sites among 3 ranges of depths (most of them are between 45 to 90 feet). Diving conditions are friendly and we enjoy an average 90 feet visibility. All our dives are boat dives (time from the jetty: 10 to 15 minutes). After visiting the jungle and the Mayan city of Chacchoben, we will go to the Bacalar lagoon, a famous haven for pirates, where you can relax, swim or enjoy a kayak ride in the refreshing waters of the seven-color lagoon. Take a short break eating some delicious fajitas with your favorite drink at the edge of the lagoon or just enjoy the breeze and incredible landscape. We recommend this tour if you visit Costa Maya for the first time.

Costa Maya Open Bar ATV Adventure
An ATV tour is one of the best ways to explore the natural beauty of Costa Maya. This tour is a perfect combination of a funday full of adventure and relaxation at the beach. Your guide will lead you through the small fishermen's town to explore Mahahual, Costa Maya. Off you go through sandy roads and off-road dirt sometimes muddy paths along the beach leading to the lush jungle making this one of the best scenic ride and experience. Once your ride is over you can enjoy 3 hours Open Bar with lunch at the beach. Refresh in the white, sandy, shallow, pristine beaches or simply lay back and relax as the breeze gently caresses. You can also stroll along the boardwalk for local shopping. After your time is up your transportation back to the port can be arranged by the restaurateur, this transportation fee is not included.
