Old Quarter - Pho Ly Quoc Su
This is one of the best pho shops in Melbourne. The broth is rich, flavourful and not just loaded with MSG like some other shops. The meat portions are generous, and the overall quality of the ingredients is good. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere that's perfect for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner with friends.
Takayama Shōwa-kan Museum
An interesting museum in Takayama where you can learn about the Japanese lifestyle during the Showa period. Lots of interesting artifacts on display.
Kakunodatemachi
The former samurai district in Kakunodate is beautiful in spring, when many old weeping cherry trees are in full bloom. You can visit a samurai house, see their real armours and katana swords on display, and learn about their lifestyle.
Momodori Ekimae Shokudo
I ordered the Momodori set and it tasted wonderful. The chicken was crispy, juicy and well-marinated. The portion was generous, and the service could not be better.
ShinShin Hakata Ramen
Delicious tonkotsu ramen. The soup is rich and flavourful, and the chashu is the highlight of the bowl. Worth checking out when you’re in Hakata.
