Anglers Reach
- After a great day playing in the ski field, you can come back and have a good stroll around Jindabyne village, have a nice dinner with your mates and a relaxing evening by the lake of Jindabyne. Or if you are like us, feeling a bit more adventurous, then Anglers Reach is for you - It is around 1h30m of drive from Jindabyne, here to watch a clear sky full of stars and encounter the magnificent milky way. Angler reach is a small village located on the shore of Lake Eucumbene which is popular as a holiday destination for trout fishing in NSW. - If you are lucky enough when the sky is clear you can enjoy a sky full of stars and make sure to light up the campfire to stay warm because it can get really cold. If you decide to do this trip, make sure you have enough fuel, gear, energy, and drive with friends because the way back to Jindabyne is long and could be dangerous. Be very cautious on the road as there will be kangaroos and wombats which you may tackle on the high way. We chose the place as just for our personal interest, so this will be an optional trip if you like a bit of a night adventure.

Jindabyne
From Cooma to Jindabyne is another 45 drive. Jindabyne is a nice quaint little town which most of people book their accommodation here, it has a big lake which could be nice to have an explore around when you arrive. Plenty of options for dinner, our favorite shop is Banjo Banterson, you could order pub’s food, beer and a great vibe. Or if you feel like cooking, Woolies is just around the corner. - A good night in your accommodation to wind down after a long day of traveling, a sip of whisky is recommended to have a warm night's sleep, getting prepared for the next days of explorations.

Mount Hotham
- If you drive from Victoria, the best resort is mount Hotham, approximately 380km from Melbourne and a good scenic 4.30h drive - Hotham is known for its unique settings of the village and the mountain. The village is actually on top of everything and you can have a vantage point to pretty much everywhere from your accommodation. What could be better to sip a beer with mates and enjoy a 360 view of the mountain, not to mention an epic sunset is waiting for you? - Because of its unique setting, you will be able to ski right from the village down to the valley and come back up via lift. Mount Hotham is also known for its side country skiing and snowboarding, its very easy to get lost so please be aware and know where you are going. Warning: for thrill seeker only. - Make sure you check out Bright, a lovely village before you arrive to mount Hotham. If you are on a budget, Bright could be you base point. From here you can explore both Falls Creek and Hotham. - If you do drive from Sydney to Hotham, prepare your day to go as early as you can because it is a very long journey. The road to Hotham village can be quite icy and dangerous. Make sure access with 4WD is best or carry on snow chain for 2WD vehicle.

Guthega
- We can suggest Guthega as a side trip. From here you can have a 360 view of the backcountry landscape, a very unique and powerful place to get out of the crowds. Driving time can be fluctuated depending on weather conditions. It can be easier to access during all year round even there are a lot of twists and turns, but it can be harder in the Wintertime as the road can be icy on the surface. It can be quite slippery and dangerous, so make sure, if possible, go with a 4WD or carry on snow chains for a 2WD vehicle. - Diving time can be fluctuated depending on weather conditions. - It is a 5.5h drive so make sure you time yourself and don’t arrive too late. It is a cruisy drive and you can pass by Canberra for a quick sightseeing. The best thing is to start from the morning at 8 am and stop at many as you can for photos or rest. - On the way from Canberra to Jindabyne, you will pass Cooma, it is a nice big town in the Snowy Monaro region with many shops to pack up before Jindabyne. Plus you will have more options to rent out your clothes, as Jindy might get busy! Make sure you stop by KFC for a quick snack and toilet break. You have another 45m to reach Jindabyne. (Tip: stop by Rhythm in Cooma or Alrberg Ski centre in Berridale, for a wide range of rental gears, items of clothing and ski rental here are normally cheaper and suitable for big groups, suitable place to get well prepared before bracing the cold in the mountain) - Jindabyne is a nice quaint little town and has a lake which could be nice to have an explore around when you arrive.
