Summer Palace used to be the Royal's place to avoid the heat of summer. It reflects perfectly what royal life used to be like. If you have visited Forbidden City, you can't skip Summer Palace.

Great Wall of China

The hike up to the Great Wall is strenuous but the view is rewarding. Of the main entrances, I think Mutianyu is less touristy and offer better view.
