Top 3 premium specialty coffee shop in Ho Chi Minh City

It's not easy to find yourself a quiet corner within such a hectic metropolis like Ho Chi Minh City. Somedays, all you need is a break away from the office. I've collected these 3 cafés, they exude from every corners a sense of exclusivity found in introvertness. They are uniquely Vietnamese, in fact, as you look at the furniture, they have a retro, albeit polish, sophistication from decades ago, and not at all decrepit or obsolete. Come to these place to enjoy your quiet, lazy afternoon and also breath in this "newly constructed Saigon's identity".

Vườn Thảo Điền

You'll recognize this first café on its white stucco appearance. The café is actually just a first floor of a bigger facility, includes 3 floors serving as a co working space, art space, music concert stage. The furniture is mostly wooden.

Surprisingly, they do not serve any ordinary coffee, like Ca Phe Sua Da, Espresso, Cappucino. Instead, they only have specialty coffee, coldbrewed. I and my girlfriend ordered a cup of South American coffee and a tea pot. I'm not a coffee conoisseur to give you my opinion on the coffee.

I love the furniture. The low armchairs are reminiscent of the Vietnam during DOI MOI era, before the economy was open to the world. They interpreted that nostalgia not by incorporate the old and dilapibidated furniture like in Cong Cafe, instead, they manufactured a whole new set of furniture base on that silhouette.

Chill Corner - Thảo Điền & Hum Garden

This café belongs to the same ownership as the last one, yet it specializes more into a more traditional brewing method. You'll be able to order Vietnamese iced coffee, Capuccino and so on. Despite incorporating the same wooden furniture and tone, this one offers a more somber atmosphere.

Behide the café there is a vegetarian restaurant, it looks tropical and indochinese too.

A cafe Specialty coffee

I actually enjoy this café more than the others, because the make the best Vietnamese iced coffee. When you walk into a café and they make the simplest form of coffee good enough, you'll know they brew everything fantastically. They also serve wine and sell coffee bean. They only thing I dislike that you'll park the bike around 20m from here, quite an inconvenience.
