The Adventure is Yours in Colorado Springs

Your next trip to Colorado Springs is guaranteed to be jam-packed with activities, with more than 55 regional attractions, breathtaking landscape for limitless outdoor adventures, and a dynamic culture rich in arts, entertainment, and history.

1. The Spirit of Travel

Despite the fact that COVID-19 has most likely had an impact on your life, you'd probably still prefer to travel beyond your mailbox. The spirit of adventure lives in everyone, and it's especially evident in the halls of the brand-new United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum. Discover the amazing sportsmen who have gone on to make magic in stadiums and arenas all over the world. The region is also rich in Western history, with mining, railways, and unique architecture that can't be found anyplace else. Finish your adventure with a drink at Axe and the Oak, a Colorado Springs-based whiskey bar, or get soaked on a whitewater rafting trip — the water is cooler than you think and will make you feel alive!

2. Easily Accessible Socially Distanced Adventures

Worry-free holidays are the finest. You're in luck because Colorado Springs, with its abundance of fresh air and wide-open spaces (cue The Chicks), is the ideal location for a socially isolated holiday. Simply walking outside the door of your hotel, B&B, or camping will get your pulse pumping and make you feel energized. Explore one of the numerous less-traveled pathways, keeping 6 feet between you and other hikers. If hiking isn't your thing, don't worry: there are lots of alternative activities to do. Maybe go golfing for the day or take a stand-up paddleboarding class and try not to make a big splash.

3. Awe-Inspiring Scenic Drives

Another strategy to preserve your distance is to take in everything the neighborhood has to offer from the front seat of your car. Put that baby in first gear and prepare to be amazed by rugged peaks, chocolate-walled canyons, and golden aspen foliage! From Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek, the Gold Camp Road to Old Stage Road route follows a former railroad line. You'll weave your way up via evergreen-covered switchbacks, old tunnels (one of which is supposed to be haunted), and lots of hiking pit stops. In approximately 20 minutes, U.S. 24 to Woodland Park offers a wealth of views. Look back out your left window as you cruise to see majestic mountain constructions speckled with red rocks and surrounded in thick pines before arriving in Woodland Park, a charming mountain village. The Pickle Shack (a shop for pickle aficionados, if the name wasn't apparent) must be your first trip.

4. A Colo-Ready State of Mind

On your next trip to the Springs, as you know, it's critical to adopt appropriate travel behaviors and keep an eye out for yourself and others. When doing anything with other people, remember to spread out and always wear your mask – we recommend one with Colorado "Cs" on it. If you're sick, you should also stay at home and examine the rules and regulations of each location. Finally, when you're out and about in the Colorado Springs area, or anywhere else in the state, remember to Leave No Trace.
