Think takeaway, and pizza and souvlaki might come to mind. But with people being asked to stay home to control the spread of COVID-19, some of Sydney's best restaurants and cafes are getting into the takeaway and delivery game.

Eating restaurant food at home requires a change of mindset, from enjoying the entire atmospheric experience of dining out to simply appreciating the food in our own surrounds.

Family catering company, Pen Catering, lost all its orders when corporates moved to working from home. To continue supporting their 25 staff, they've launched Essential Kitchen Sydney in their Neutral Bay kitchen, transforming the sandwich production area into a grocery store with essentials such as meat, bread, pasta, sauces, eggs and milk. They're also offering chef-made meals for $12, home delivered between 9am and 5pm daily, along with grocery boxes. There's no delivery charge for those in Neutral Bay, Mosman and Cremorne, but they deliver further afield as well.
