Phạm Viết Chánh: Where the Fun Vibe Never Ends
It's so nice having found the perfect destination in Saigon for a laid-back weekday retreat with a couple of refreshing cold beers or indulge in a flavorful and satisfying meal, either solo or with colleagues. This locale offers an ideal setting for a delightful get-together without straining your budget. Navigating a diverse array of options, from bars to restaurants featuring Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, and more, Saigon effortlessly brings together a comprehensive experience that caters to every preference.
In all honesty, while Pham Viet Chanh is not the sole venue in Saigon presenting a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere, other areas such as Thao Dien, Bui Vien, and Thai Van Lung share a similar ambiance. However, Pham Viet Chanh distinguishes itself for several reasons, such as more affordable prices, a notable absence of questionable or explicit services commonly found in massage parlors or adult-oriented establishments. Focused solely on offering beers and food, Pham Viet Chanh maintains a simpler, superior, and more family-friendly environment, making it stand out amidst the diverse options in the city.
This locale bears a resemblance to a casual street, reminiscent of places where international exchange students can visit and enjoy, much like Magherita Square in Venice or downtown Budapest. It doesn't solely revolve around tourism, akin to Jod Fairs in Bangkok, yet it retains a lively and distinct personality.
The pubs lining this street are undeniably entertaining, each possessing a unique charm and remaining open throughout the week. I would suggest indulging in a kebab from "Kebaby" at the street's end and concluding the night with some refreshing beers at "Nông Trại Khoai."
Consider taking a tour to Arcan, which is merely 1km away from Pham Viet Chanh, if you're seeking an overnight experience.
