Outback luxury adventure 5 night luxury itinerary
This 5-night luxury itinerary brings you to two hidden sites in the Top End, allowing you to enjoy the untamed countryside in elegance and comfort.
Day 1
Depart Darwin accommodation on charter flight to Bullo River Station.
Bullo River Station is a busy operating cattle station covering 500,000 acres in the extreme outback of the Northern Territory, in what is known as the East Kimberley region. This is a traditional cattle station (ranch) in the Top End. 500,000 acres of grassy plains with Brahman-cross cattle and a slew of wallabies, brown rivers with crocodiles lurking on the muddy banks, rugged hills inscribed with Aboriginal rock art, gushing streams and crystal clear swimming holes, termite mounds, boab trees, stock horses, wild buffalo, and a few good yarns to tell At Bullo River, guests can participate in a variety of activities.
Day 2
A 4WD safari on the property allows guests to explore the area's wide and stunning nature, which highlights the richness of wildlife, vegetation, and Aboriginal art sites while taking in the breathtaking surroundings.
Day 3
With one of our experts, see Aboriginal rock art locations and learn more about this ancient civilization. The property is home to a number of galleries of stunning Aboriginal rock art, and Franz and Marlee continue to discover new locations each year. Combine this with a river trip through the beautiful Bullo River Gorge, where you may fish or look for crocodiles, or simply enjoy the stunning scenery of northern Australia. From a chopper, the view of Bullo's vastness is simply spectacular and comes highly recommended. There are numerous magnificent freshwater swimming holes and waterfalls high up in the escarpment away from the crocodiles that can only be reached by helicopter, and while this comes at an additional expense, it is a fantastic chance to see portions of the property that are otherwise inaccessible.
Day 4
Following a hearty breakfast, take a 90-minute Charter flight to Bamurru Plains.
On the Mary River floodplains, Bamurru Plains is located immediately west of Kakadu National Park. A plethora of birds and wildlife can be found right outside the door of a one-of-a-kind bush lodge that emanates 'Wild Bush Luxury' and adds a dash of elegance to the exploration of a lonely and magnificent area. The floodplain wetlands of the Mary River basin are the primary natural feature of this area and some of the most important in the country, home to thousands of Magpie Geese, Plumed Whistling-Duck, Egrets, Ibis, and a plethora of other birds. Take a wetlands airboat trip to see the wildlife. Before a wonderful gourmet supper, enjoy sundowners.
Day 5
Explore Sampan Creek, which is part of the Mary River System and marks the station's western boundary. This system has one of the world's highest crocodile densities. This mangrove-lined ecosystem is home to many bird species, not just crocodiles. As you meander along this creek system in the shade provided by our canopy-covered tour, learn about these species from our knowledgeable guides. Spend the afternoon bird-watching in the Mary River watershed, which is home to 236 different bird species, many of which can be spotted at Bamurru Plains. The importance of this property lies in the range of habitats it supports, which include black soil floodplains, paperbark swamps, savannah forest, river mangroves, and coastal beaches.
