Discover Hawke's Bay with this 3-day leisurely pathways itinerary

Day 1: Ahuriri to Taradale, 35kms
Make your way down the scenic Ahuriri Estuary, starting in the historic port community of Ahuriri. Wind through wetlands on your way to Taradale for lunch at the Mission Estate or Church Road wineries before finishing the picturesque 20-kilometer Puketapu Loop path, a local and visitor favorite. The trail follows the Tutaekuri River west to Puketapu, a small rural village with a traditional Kiwi tavern and a nice place to stop for refreshments. Make your way to Taradale for the night.
Day 2: Taradale to Gimblett Gravels Wine Region, 40 kms
Enjoy a magnificent morning ride through orchard and farming terrain, following the Tutaekuri and Ngaruroro rivers to the world-renowned Ngatarawa Gimblett Gravels appellation. It's all about the vino this afternoon! Before taking a late afternoon trip to your overnight accommodation in Havelock North, take in the atmosphere of the various cellar doors and vineyard style meals.
Day 3: Havelock North to Ahuriri, 35 kms
Make your way to the shore and the East Clive wetlands, which are home to a variety of New Zealand native birds, by following the Tuki Tuki River walk. Apple orchards, wineries, and market gardens dominate the landscape, earning the region the nickname "New Zealand's Food Bowl." The trail leads to the heart of Napier, the 'Art Deco Capital of the World,' via the Norfolk Palm-lined Marine Parade. Before the final 5km cycling back to Ahuriri, spend some time enjoying the city's unique architecture.
