Bars that actually better than Bui Vien ones

It sucks to spend a night by yourself when you at a new city. These bars are exactly for ex-pats who were looking for someplace refreshing. The bars listed here are cool, friendly, easy to join, a bit not so noisy or full of people, plus the drinks are quite cheap.

Calmo - The Tonic Bar Tân Cảng

Calmo - The Tonic Bar Tân Cảng
85, 85/7 Phạm Viết Chánh, Phường 19, Bình Thạnh, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam

A hidden bar in an alley, This Havana-ish bar is just the right place for a cool drink without breaking your bank. The deco is like a throwback to the 60-70s Saigon, you will find the place is not fancy at all. I like this place with the friendly staff, many ex-pats come here for a drink too, the neighbourhood is also not as noisy as in Bui Vien.

Happy hour starts at 𝟰:𝟯𝟬 - 𝟳:𝟬𝟬𝗣𝗠 every day, they open till 2 am in the morning

Luu Bar Saigon

Luu Bar
108 Phạm Viết Chánh, Phường 19, Bình Thạnh, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam

Just a couple of steps from Calmo is another bar to chill in. They don't serve beer here, unfortunately. The cocktails are pretty good, top-shelf drinks are not that expensive though. They will hold some concerts here, so follow their Facebook for updates.

Open from night till 3 am

WAM Saigon

WAM
8, 19 Đường số 49B, Thảo Điền, Quận 2, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam

If you were looking for a place with beer and music, you'll come to the right place. They play retro beats at night. There are 2 stories with a balcony looking over to Saigon River. The cocktail is worth trying too.

open from 18 pm till 1 am

Bam Bam

Bam Bam
41 Đ. Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa, Phường Nguyễn Thái Bình, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam

With a South America theme, a pool (drained for show) in the middle, this indoor bar is a nice place to check out when you in Saigon. The music is sometimes a bit too loud for my taste but maybe you'll like it. Anyway, a decent place to try out.

These bars above are not for dancing, The next article I'll list some dance floors in Saigon so stay tuned.
