Day 2

The great magnitude of Kata Tjuta becomes clear only when you travel closer after viewing the mysterious red domes from afar with a photo opportunity. Begin your journey with a guided tour of Walpa Gorge, where the natural history of Kata Tjuta is thoroughly discussed. Learn how eons of weathering and continental instability resulted in the current landscape. After arriving at Uluru's base, our guide takes you on the peaceful Mala Walk, where you'll learn about the Mala people's history before arriving at Kantju Gorge. Day 3

Today you can choose between two day trip options:

Option 1: Mt Conner & Curtain Springs Station

Visit Mt Conner, which is 100 kilometers east of Uluru. This is the typical outback experience in Australia. This intriguing excursion will give you an introduction to desert life. As we journey into an incredible area via 4WD, soak up the ambiance of the Red Centre without the crowds. Mt Conner is located on Curtin Springs Station, a large, fully running, privately owned cattle station. While the property's dams were built to provide water for livestock, they now provide the ideal natural habitat for red kangaroos, as well as a diverse range of birds and reptiles native to the Red Centre. You'll see a historic inland salt lake and learn about the region's European history. You'll be charmed by the stunning changing colors of sunset over Mt Conner while sipping a bottle of sparkling wine before returning to Curtin Springs Station for a three-course outdoor supper served by the cook.

Option 2: Cave Hill tour

Set out from Longitude on a day trip to Cave Hill, an Aboriginal cultural encounter that will give tourists a glimpse into regular Aboriginal life. Travel by 4WD, relax, and enjoy a tour deep into the desert of Central Australia's Pitjantjatjara lands. An Anangu host will meet you upon arrival. The Anangu are the traditional owners of Cave Hill, which is home to the Tjukurpa Seven Sisters (creation time). They're in charge of preserving the chapter of the Songline that takes place inside the confines of their customary homeland — a story that has been passed down since the dawn of time.

The tour's centerpiece is the stunning cave paintings, which are possibly Central Australia's most important art site. On the cave's roof, the drama of the Seven Sisters creation myth is graphically depicted. Climb to the top of Cave Hill for a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape, including Uluru, Mount Conner, and the majestic Musgrave Ranges, which are all 100 kilometers away. Tjukurpa and the Songlines will be discussed, as well as their significance to Anangu existence in the desert. You can learn about traditional food collection and how to prepare desert bush tucker delicacies. Return to Longitude 131° after lunch, arriving late afternoon.
