Olden Shore Excursion: the Amazing Briksdal Glacier
Experience unspoiled beauty during this half-day excursion to the Briksdal Glacier. You will depart from Olden by bus and drive through the valley, passing the 'little red church,' the Olden Lake, colorful farms and numerous waterfalls. Once you arrive at the Briksdal Inn, a beautiful track surrounded by waterfalls and mountains will lead you to the viewpoint at the glacier lake, from where you will be able to enjoy this amazing natural treasure. You can also rent a 'troll car' if you cannot or prefer not to walk the glacier.

After being picked up in Flam, we journey through the small village of Aurland and embark on one of Norway's 18 famous routes. Our first stop is the Stegastein viewpoint, which provides an unforgettable, unobstructed panoramic view of the UNESCO-listed Aurlandsfjord from above. Our scenic route continues over the Snowy Road (Aurlandsfjellet), during our stop and ride you will be immersed by an untouched raw landscape, where snow covers the ground for most of the year. In Lærdal, you can explore a charming village with over 150 houses dating back to the 1700s-1800s. The next highlight is the Borgund Stave Church, the best-preserved and most distinctive stave church, 800 years old. Before you get tired of the twists and turns, admire from above where two impressive arms of the Sognefjorden meet, at the Stegastein viewpoint. The trip ends at the meeting point in Flåm, after driving down the last meandering section of the Aurlandsfjorden.

Join us on this 4-hour excursion to the amazing Briksdal Glacier. After driving through the small village of Olden, we continue on our way to Briksdal. We drive through the Olden Valley, passing the beautiful Olden Lake. When our bus reaches the Briksdal Inn, you can start the hike towards Briksdal Glacier, which is one of many arms of the famous Jostedal Glacier. The hike up to Briksdal Glacier takes you through a beautiful scenery surrounded by waterfalls and mountains. Finally, you will reach the viewpoint at the lake of the glacier. The first part of the hike is the hardest, and it gets gradually easier. The walk to the glacier normally takes around 45-60 minutes.

On this walking tour we visit Steim farm and the surrounding area, with traditional and modern farming. We walk through the wonderful Norwegian landscape and visit the alpacas and goats in their summer pastures. If you are lucky you get to hold baby animals or see the traditional long wooled sheep or the beautiful national fjord horse. There are some awesome photo opportunities along the way!
