Reims afternoon tour Champagne and family growers
Meet your local guide at 2.00 pm in front of the tourist office of Reims Centre train station and start your afternoon with a drive through the countryside. Visit a family-run winery, discover the traditional press and tank room as your guide details the champagne making process. Appreciate several tastings of their production. Appreciate a stop in the vineyard, with breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage Champagne vines and gain knowledge about the particularities of our “terroir”. Drive through the village of Hautvillers and visit the church where Dom Pérignon is buried. Finish your tour with a visit at another family-run winery where you will be able to taste and compare various cuvées. After an afternoon full of precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in front of Reims centre train station between 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm.

Appreciate the charming hillsides of the Champagne region and peek-behind-the-scenes of a family-run winery. Visit the traditional press, tank room and cellar of an authentic champagne grower. Enjoy several tastings of their best–seller “cuvees”. Then, be welcomed at a champagne house, be introduced to the champagne tasting and enjoy a lunch with more champagne. Go back to Reims and visit the famous Maison Mumm (if not available can be replaced by a similar house) and enjoy their emblematic cuvée. After a day full of experiences and precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in Reims 5.30 pm.

I was born in Epernay, in the heart of this Champagne cradle where the maternity ward was called Auban-Moet, built in 1893 thanks to donations from the Moët & Chandon family. Children born in this place receive a drop of Champagne from their first breaths! Such a baptism opens a way of life, so I chose to reach the chalk hillsides to work there and develop a certain sensitivity to nature and the vine. A whole story of skies, landscapes and people that I cannot keep to myself. Welcome to the land of Champagne!!
