Pitigliano in the footstep of the Etruscan: Hike and wine tasting
Join The Red Road Tour for a once-in-a-lifetime hike, followed by a wine, cheese, and cured meat tasting with a local and fully licensed guide. We will walk in the footsteps of the Etruscans, the ancient people who inhabited the ancient lands of Marrema, immersing ourselves in the vie cave (ancient streets dug into the tufaceous rock that reaches a depth of 25 meters) and following a circular route of about 6 km (3.7 miles.) Experience the secret walkways, caves, and tombs of these people who dug the paths to connect with the necropolises, also known as the ancient cities of the dead. The tour will end with a visit to a private historic cellar (featured in National Geographic) with a wine tasting and sampling of local cured meats and cheeses. The entire excursion will be an experiential journey that will involve the 5 senses, allowing you to experience and savor all the history and uniqueness of a territory.

We will collect you at your accommodation, drive you to Ducati for the factory and museum tour (subject to availability), and to Maranello for the Ferrari Museum tour, plus a bonus trip to look at the Mugello Grand Prix race circuit set in the beautiful Tuscan hills. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant near Maranello or Stella Pizzeria in Bologna depending on factory/museum visit times available. Your guide has a wealth of experience of the area, the famous roads (you will see some of the famous Mille Miglia route) racing, Ferrari and Ducati history plus knowledge of the history of the area. Jewish Pitigliano Ghetto private Tour
Learn the history of Jewish families that moved to Pitigliano in 16 th century attracted by the tolerance policy of the noble Orsini family for building a synagogue, a school, banks, a cemetery and artisan shops. In 1600 Florence created a ghetto, but the relationships between Jews and catholic were never so bad and the conditions never miserable as in other Italian ghettos. The situation change favorably for the Jews, and the ghetto was closed, so in the 1800 the Jewish population reached the 12% of the citizens and Pitigliano became known as the Little Jerusalem. Enjoy the tour of the restorated synagogue,and ghetto. Visit the new museum that offers the possibility to discover this amazing unique place. The rooms of the ghetto were excavated underground, in the soft tufa rock, with windows open in the cliff, and is possible visit the ritual bath, Mikveh, the oven for unleavened, the textile dye work, the kosher wine cellar and the slaughterhouse, in addition to the synagogue.
