World Heritage Nikko Walking Tour - Toshogu Shrine, Kanmangafuchi

A sacred place for Japan's mountain worship, Nikko is home to the "Shrines and Temples of Nikko," a registered World Heritage Site. On this tour, walk around World Heritage component sites such as Nikko Toshogu Shrine together with a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter. In small groups, customers go on a course where they can learn more about Japan while listening to explanations in English about Nikko's history, culture, and faith.

The order of the tour itinerary is subject to change due to road conditions, events, ceremonies, or other reasons.
Public transportation will be used to move around on this tour. Please note that seating is not guaranteed.
In case access to Kanmangafuchi Abyss is deemed unsafe due to road surface freezing, etc., if Nikko Toshogu Shrine cannot be entered, or due to other operation circumstances, the tour may be taken to another destination. In such a case, it will be one of the following: Futarasan Shrine or Taiyuuin Mausoleum at Rinno-ji Temple
As there are slopes and stairs areas around Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Kanmangafuchi Abyss, wearing shoes with good traction and clothing easy to walk in as well as using a backpack are recommended. (A distance of about 5 km will be covered.)
As there are land leeches from April to November, please be sure to keep your legs covered. We recommend wearing thick socks that cover the ankles and bringing bug spray.
