At the outlet of Lake Todos Los Santos, a series of waterfalls known as Los Saltos de Petrohué appear and later become the river of the same name. The name Petrohué is of Mapudungun origin and means place of smokehouses. This denomination perhaps refers to the kind of steam that is formed with the resounding fall of the water that sprays on the rocks in the background. The highest drop of this geological formation is 3 meters and its waters are emerald in color.
