The name Petrohué is of Mapudungun origin and means place of smokers. This denomination perhaps refers to the kind of steam that is formed with the resounding fall of the water that is sprayed on the rocks at the bottom. The biggest fall of this geological formation is 3 meters and its waters are emerald in color.
