Laughing Bird Caye is a National Park and World Heritage Site. It is a long and narrow island known for its abundance of marine life and corals. The name comes from the gulls that are among the many birds that Inhabit the north end of the caye. Laughing Bird Caye offers excellent snorkeling as would be expected at a national park. On the east side of the island coral mounds separated by sandy patches rise to about 5 feet from the surface. These mounds have a variety of coral types which are home to lobsters, barracuda, lizardfish, angel fish, parrot fish, spotted drums, southern rays and a myriad of reef fish. On the west side your guide will find lobster, barracuda, lizardfish, Nassau grouper, angel fish, furry sea cucumbers, conch and lots and lots of colourful juvenile reef fish.

Just under a hour outside of Placencia Village, we’ll arrive at Mayan King. We’ll enjoy seven 7 zip Lines and a couple bridges, enjoying the views from as high as 400 feet into the tree tops. The longest line is 1300 feet. The lines crisscross over the river and valley below. This tour is easy for all ages. Children are welcome but may need to go tandem with another rider or guide. Then we’ll take a short hike down to the river. We’ll ride the river for about 45 minutes through mostly calm waters, with a few quick rapids along the way. For safety, life jackets and helmets are provided. We’ll also have two guides – one at the beginning and one at the end of our group – to help navigate the waters. Finally, we take a short drive to the waterfall – enjoy the pristine beauty and tranquil atmosphere of the natural waterfall. Diving at Pompion Caye
Your days starts at Captain Jak’s dock, where you’ll meet your captain and dive master while being fitted for gear. Once everyone is outfitted properly by our trained staff and approved by our dive master, the boat will depart at 8:30 AM. The boat ride to Pompion Caye is 90- to 105-mintues through beautiful blue waters, past private islands, and a variety of cayes. Your first dive will be a 70-foot wall dive, the deepest of the two dives. Diving the wall, expect to see a variety of tropical fish, sharks, and rays. This dive will last around an hour. Lunch will be a traditional picnic-style Belizean meal of chicken, rice and beans, and freshly cut fruit that will be served between the two dives. The second dive is a cannon dive that has many lettuce corals. This dive is 50-feet. For more experienced divers, we can set up an option to do some lionfish hunting. This dive is only 50 ft deep. Once both dives are complete, we’ll head back to Captain Jak’s and arrive around 3:30 PM.

Your days starts at Captain Jak’s dock, where you’ll meet your captain and dive master while being fitted for gear. Our first stop, Silk Caye, is about an hour’s boat ride from Placencia. Along the way, take in the beautiful blues of the Caribbean, the private islands, and cayes. Your first dive is the deepest, maxing out at 70 feet. During this dive, enjoy a wall dive of the healthiest (and second longest) barrier reef in the world. Expect to see nurse sharks, turtles, and a variety of tropical fish. After this first dive, we’ll enjoy a traditional Belizean lunch on Silk Caye. Then get ready for the second tank dive. This dive is nicknamed the “White Hole” because of the sandy drop which quickly moves over to a reef formation. Finally, we’ll make a special stop at “Turtle Alley” before heading back to Captain Jak’s. You will arrive back in Placencia around 3:30 PM.
