It is one of the city’s oldest structures and features a 74-foot tower and Queen Anne-style keeper's quarters. Museum exhibits and artifacts tell the history and stories about Milwaukee's lighthouses, the keepers who maintained them, and Great Lakes maritime industry. The Third Ward was called the Blood Third in the mid-19th-century due to street gangs and groups of thugs, but it was also home to the city's best hotels and businesses. You'll hear about the ghost of a small boy, Timmy, who at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness has scared many students over the years. A few buildings survived the fire including the Old Saloon and the Irish Pub, once a house of ill repute and where a lover's quarrel ended in disaster. Guests and employees have been terrified by apparitions of the Lady of the Pub in the basement and in the bathroom mirrors.
