Espiritu Santo Island is an incredible paradise that you will never forget! The experience of swimming with sea lions is very nice, they are playful and they usually come close to interact with the swimmers. (During the months of June, July, and August, swimming with sea lions in their rookery is not allowed, so we just see them from the boat and snorkel and/or hike at another site of the island) We always try to take our clients to the beaches where there are less people, so that they get a unique experience with the feeling of adventure that we like so much. Finally, learning about the history of the ancient settlers, the fauna and flora of the area, the current lifestyle of the locals, and being accompanied by marine biologist guides will make your day a very enriching one. It can only be visited on boats with permits and certified guides.

Just a few minutes away from the city of La Paz, you will search, see and swim with one or various whale sharks, guided by a local marine biologist which will introduce you to the specifics of the species and also record with a go pro pictures and videos of the tour, which we will send to you digitally after the tour day. Please note that the whale shark area is Government regulated and when it reaches its full capacity there may be a waiting time from 1 to 3 hours approx. prior to enter. This applies to all tour operators and we can just know on the very same day. Approx. In 95% of the time we don't have to wait at all, but the other 5% of the times we need to wait. You can eat there, get in the water or just take a nap after all the snorkeling you did.

Snorkeling with the whale shark is a wonderful experience that we have very close to in the City of La Paz. Our boat is very comfortable and perfectly equipped for this activity.

What makes us different from other operators? They put 10 to 15 guests for boat. We prefer maximum 6 guests for boat. Since all operators are allowed maximum 2 hours in the whale shark area this policy allows you maximum time in the water, better ratio guide / guests and a more personal experience. According to regulation other operators allow 5 swimmers and the guide at the same time in the water. If you have come with your partner we prefer you two swim alone with the whale shark, without sharing your first whale shark encounter with strangers. If you come with children or many members of your family you and your guide will decide the best way for you to enjoy, maybe small groups as starter and a final jump with all together. If you are elderly or poor swimmer, or just a bit shy the guide may jump with you alone to make sure you have the best experience possible.

Full Day Snorkel and Swim with Sea Lions & Whale Sharks in La Paz
Swim with sea lions at their colony on the northern tip of Espiritu Santo Island, and with giant whale sharks, on this full-day, once-in-a-lifetime trip. Our skiff-rides to and from the various activities give us a panoramic view of the beautiful Bay of La Paz and it’s fascinating combination of desert and marine ecosystems. Leaving from La Paz in the morning, we take a 60 minute boat ride to the sea lion colony at Los Islotes. Here we will jump into the water to snorkel in a wild place, with playful and curious sea lion pups. Additionally, this rocky outcrop showcases beautiful shallow coral reefs full of fish and steep cliffs for seabirds including Frigate birds and Blue-footed Boobies. Afterwards, we make our way to one of the many beautiful beaches on the island for lunch and a rest. Finally, we make our way to the whale shark sanctuary to swim with these enigmatic animals.
