If you are looking to be in a big group this is not the trip for you seeing as we like to keep our groups small so we can offer a more personal service. Your trip will begin at the glacier lagoon parking lot where you will board our super jeep and then we will drive you on road only accessible by super jeeps to the glaciers edge. When we arrive at the „parking lot“ for the ice cave you will be given a helmet and crampons and then we will walk for about 10-25 minutes depending on what ice cave is the most beautiful at the time of your trip. When we get to the ice cave you can take your time to walk around and enjoy the amazing view, take some wonderful photos and make memories you will never forget.

We meet at Jökulsárlón (Glacier Lagoon) and drive in a jeep for about thirty minutes to where we begin the hike. Then, the walk to the ice cave takes about one to one-and-a-half hours. The hike leads through a rocky and uneven terrain of glacial moraine and onto the glacier itself. We´ll have plenty of time on this tour and fewer people than usual. Glacier Hike to a Remote Ice Cave from Jökulsárlón
Embark with us on the adventure of your lifetime! Nestled within the otherworldly landscapes of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier, this adventure promises a unique and unforgettable experience. Venture deep into the heart of Vatnajökull, where nature has sculpted breathtaking ice caves. Our experienced guides will lead you safely through the labyrinth of ice, sharing the geological wonders and stories. You will meet your guide at the main parking lot of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. From there, he will take you on about 45-minute 4x4 ride towards the glacier, where you will start your hike. You can expect to cover a distance of up to 10 km. Note: It is a hiking tour, so proper footwear is essential. Make sure you wear ankle-covering hiking boots (preferably stiff). Please note that we might not be the only group visiting the ice cave.

An extra-small group tour to the Sapphire ice cave located on Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. This tour is operated by a small, local company. You'll meet your licensed guide at Jökulsárlón. From there it's an approximately 30 minute drive in a 4x4 truck to the glacier parking. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the edge of the glacier where the Sapphire cave is located. We usually spend around 30-45 minutes in the cave, taking plenty of photos and exploring the various formations in the cave.
