Conwy is a medieval walled town with a UNESCO world heritage castle - all nestling on the banks of scenic river estuary. Explore the town with a local qualified and experienced guide. We'll meet outside the Tourist Information Centre and head to the castle. I'll have the tickets and we can explore the defensive structures and learn what life was like living in such a castle. We'll climb up a tower and walk along the wall walks. (Those not wanting to do this will be advised where they can rejoin the tour). After about an hour in the castle we'll walk through the narrow streets of the old town through the interesting churchyard. I'll point out interesting shops and places to eat as we stroll down to the quayside to see the oldest building in Conwy and the Smallest House in Great Britain learning about the bridges and the tunnel over the Conwy Estuary. The tour ends at Plas Mawr the finest Elizabethan town house in Britain with admission included for a self-guided tour

A living landscape and cultural experience. We’ll pick you up from your hotel in the Conwy area and we head down the lush Conwy valley to meet a local farmer and watch him demonstrate his working dogs skills. After a panad (Welsh for cup of tea or coffee and a local cake) we visit a chapel in a village nestling at the foot of a mountain and have a Welsh lesson. After seeing the sheep we have to call in at a woollen mill where they still spin, weave and sell their own design blankets. Lunch will be in Betws y Coed where three rivers meet and then its off through the Snowdonia mountains for a photo of the World heritage Caernarfon castle and over to Anglesey practice your Welsh pronunciationat the station of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch before heading back along the North Wales coast.
