The Anne Hutchinson Tour of Provincetown
Get an introduction to Provincetown from one of American history's most infamous. Anne Hutchinson knows her history well enough to have been banished from Massachusetts 400 years ago and will walk you through the center of town enlivening central sites poignant to Ptown's story. Don't expect a long trek (1 mi), but do expect the "licentiousness and sinful liberty" that got Anne banished. The tour is therefore for ADULTS ONLY and suggested 21+. For anyone who can reasonably be considered underage, IDs are required. Anne's roughly hour-long oration can create such laughter it often requires great fortitude to endure, so please consider appearing early to the tour for a drink at the Crown & Anchor patio bar. Remember, Anne's detractors not only felt she had "rather been a husband than a wife” but also that she hoped to be "extolled and admired and followed after." Experience the Cape Cod National Seashore and all its charm & beauty! We will begin with a stop at the tip of our peninsula, at Pilgrim Landing. Next we'll make our way into the National Seashore. On our way, we'll have views of 2 of Provincetown's lighthouses: Wood's End and Race Point. Our next stop will be at the Province Lands Visitor’s Center. Here you can explore the museum, take in a brief movie about the Cape's unique geology, browse the wonderful gift shop and check out the amazing viewing deck of the dunes and Atlantic ocean! There's also a strong chance of seeing a variety of whales feeding just off the shores! From here, we'll head to Beech forest for a mild hike around a typical Cape Cod kettle pond. During the shoulder season, this is a popular birding spot, with varieties of birds passing through from around the world. Berry foraging is also popular at the right times. This location is a local Provincetown favorite!
