We conduct a daily update that includes both the aurora borealis and weather forecast. The tour runs based on that forecast, but runs only if the forecast indicates a chance of seeing the aurora. Because both weather and the aurora borealis are natural phenomena, we cannot guarantee seeing the northern lights. This tour increases your chance of aurora viewing success by allowing you to reserve as many nights as you like [space available] and only finalizing payment 48 hours in advance under the Reserve Now & Pay Later system. Northern Lights Tours and Lifetime Adventure from Anchorage
This tour only runs in the winter months from Sept 1st through April 15th. This trip will be focused on the Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights. It offers some of the most amazing views that Mother Nature offers. There is no disappointments on this trip as you will return home with those ultimate memories and photographs of a lifetime! Our trips are not fast and quick as we love watching the lights too! Expect hours of fun, great conversation and learning how to photography the lights. For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.
Full-Day Matanuska Glacier Small-Group Excursion
The Matanuska Glacier is the largest and most magnificent glacier in Alaska with road access. We will drive you to within about 1/2 mile of the face of the glacier, where we'll start our hike. We'll be hiking on the glacier for between an hour and a half and two hours, and walk about 2 miles. There is very little elevation change, and the hike difficulty is rated as moderate. The glacier is a little over a two-hour drive from Anchorage. We will stop about half way there for a restroom break, where you will also have the opportunity to purchase coffee and snacks. Sandwiches and bottled water are provided for lunch, which we will eat after leaving the glacier.
