Shore Excursion in Rome, History & Food
We will pick you up at the Port of Civitavecchia and take about a 40-minute train ride to Rome. Your guide during the train ride will illustrate The Eternal City with a map to help you get your bearings. Once in Rome, you will step inside the sovereign city-state of the Vatican; visiting St Peter’s Basilica and St Peter’s Square from the outside.
From there we will take a to Piazza Navona, which was originally the Stadium of Emperor Domitian. Next, we’ll take a 10-minute walk to the Pantheon, the Temple of all Gods and the best-preserved monument of Ancient Rome. Heading up the street we will stop at the Trevi Fountain and then stunning Venezia Square, where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the ancient Roman Forum and the Colosseum, one of the seven Wonders of the World.
After all that walking, it’ll be time to enjoy Rome as a Local! After a typical Italian aperitivo you will enjoy an authentic Roman Pasta Carbonara.
You will be back at the port at 4:30
