Walk through their gate with a fast track entranceand look up into the stands as they would have done all those years ago. Learn about the fascinating history of the monument, the largest ancient amphitheatre in the world, and the many events staged there, from animal hunts to mock naval battles. In the neighboring Forum you will find yourself surrounded by the remains of the ancient Roman heyday which your guide will explain and bring back to life. You will learn about the citizens, senators and slaves who lived over 2000 years ago and how they went about their daily lives. On the Palatine Hill you will get a glimpse into how the emperors lived thanks to their well-preserved palaces, the decoration of which is still visible today!

In the case of inclement weather (rain, snow, frost…), the arena floor may be closed off without notice. Entry through the gladiators’ gate will not be affected but access onto the arena floor will be prohibited.
