Sơn La

Son La, located not far from the city and near the famed Black River, welcomes you to explore the country of tea, coffee, and lovely flowers. Take a stroll in Moc Chau, one of the most popular plateaus for nature lovers, conquer the summits of Ta Xua and Pha Luong, or even meet the Thai, one of the twelve ethnic groups that populate Son La. These are just a few of the experiences you can have during your visit to this mountainous region of the North.

Son La is a hilly province more than 300 kilometers from Hanoi and readily accessible by the newly reconstructed National Road 6. It is the third biggest city and province in Vietnam, with a land area of more than 14,000 km2, three-quarters of which is occupied by mountains and plateaus. Like other plateau and mountain places, Son La has a good temperature all year, particularly in Moc Chau, which has moderate weather akin to Sapa, Tam Dao, or Da Lat.
