Odense, Funen's millennium-old center, is Denmark's third-largest city, a vibrant town in the midst of a massive transformation. The home of fairy-tale writer extraordinaire Hans Christian Andersen, there is a plethora of Andersen-related activities, such as museums, a children's center, and statues representing his most famous stories. Even pedestrian crossing lights have Andersen silhouetted in them.
