Midtjylland (Jutland)

Midtjylland, often known as Mid Jutland, is the central region of Denmark, home to one-fifth of the country's population and a variety of tourist attractions. Visit some of the region's 19 municipalities to admire natural beauties and meet the region's welcoming inhabitants. From street sellers to Michelin-starred eateries, there's something for everyone. Local favourites include herring, schnitzel, and biksemad (Danish hash).

Århus is the largest city in Midtjylland and an excellent spot to begin your tour. Moesgaard Museum, or MOMU, is located in the Højbjerg suburbs and has one of Scandinavia's greatest collections of archaeology and ethnography. Other attractions in Århus include Marselisborg Deer Park and Den Gamle By, an open-air museum. Enjoy a Danish pastry while mingling with guides dressed in historical attire. Visit the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum and Musikhuset Aarhus to learn about the city's cultural scene via art and music.
