Kolding

Kolding is a tiny provincial town on the outskirts of Denmark, South Jutland trip begins here, a gateway city set on the picturesque Kolding Fjord. Depending on your itinerary, the sixth-largest city in Denmark can become an overnight halt or the subject of a quick visit of 2 to 3 hours.

Kolding isn't one of Jutland's "must-see" destinations, but tourism is on the upswing, thanks in part to its hilltop castle, modern art museum, and medieval Gamle Stan (Old Town) in the center. If you overlook the industrial surroundings, the cobblestone streets and brightly painted half-timbered houses are worth a visit. Iron, engineering, and textiles are among the prominent sectors around the center.
