Faaborg

Faaborg is a historic port town on Faaborg Fjord in the municipality of Faaborg-Midtfyn on the Danish island of Funen. Faaborg is 42 kilometers (26 miles) southwest of Odense, 27 kilometers (17 miles) north-northwest of Svendborg, and 70 kilometers (43 miles) southeast of Middelfart, depending on the route. The town is popular with tourists, especially during the summer months, due to its busy harbor, narrow alleys, and charming ancient residences. Faaborg was originally the municipal seat of Faaborg. Ringe is the new municipality's seat. Faaborg's medieval coat of arms is used by both municipalities.

Faaborg is a short distance from Odense, Denmark's largest city. Odense is a must-see city because of its top attractions such as The Little Mermaid Statue, Nyhavn, and Stroget. Also, in order to go to Faaborg, you'll need to fly to Odense, so it's not exactly a diversion. Even if it isn't, the city is worth at least a brief visit. A visit to Faaborg should last no more than 1-2 days.
