Carvoeiro, formerly a typical fishing town, is now a bustling seaside resort on the western side of the Algarve. However, it has managed to maintain its original Algarvean charm, mostly by avoiding development into a neighbourhood of high-rise residential buildings and hotels. With a tiny central beach and some of the most picturesque beaches and coastline nearby, this is a highly appealing town that has long been a favourite of summer visitors and year-round inhabitants. It is home to numerous great restaurants, including one with a Michelin star.
