This tour visits many of the actual locations mentioned in the Outlander Novel/TV series. Whilst much of the filming took place in the South of Scotland the true location of the Jacobite Strongholds are to be found in the Highlands.Like all my tours this will be a laid back and relaxed day and flexible in every respect. The tours are conducted in a luxury van type vehicle which has excellent head and leg room and adult sized seats for all occupants. Complimentary water is carried in the vehicle and WiFi is also available wherever reception allows. Lunch stops are at your own discretion however the driver will be able to find you somewhere nice to eat as you require.

From here we will head home via the back road to Loch Ness stopping one final time at dores beach for the views and maybe meet the Nessie hunter

Departing from Invergordon port we travel along the shore of the Cromarty Firth and cross the Cromarty bridge to the Black Isle and make our way to Beauly Priory , the 13th century Monastery built for an order of Valliscaulian monks from Dijon in France and destroyed by Cromwells forces in the 16th Century.

We will then make a brief stop to see some Highland Cattle (see photo) before we carry on over Culnakirk Hill to Drumnadrochit and visit Urquhart Castle which sits on a promontory jutting out in to Loch Ness , the views of the Loch are fantastic from here and it was near here where St Columba is reputed to have seen the Loch Ness Monster.

We then head towards Inverness and as we come in to Inverness we pass the Hill of the Fairies. We stop to see The Old High Church and we pass Inverness Castle and the statue of Flora Macdonald before we travel out to Clava Cairns and have lunch at Cawdor Castle before concluding our tour at Culloden Battlefield.

We will pick you up from Glasgow or Edinburgh at your chosen pick up location (hotel, air bnb or airport pick up available). You will driven in a well maintained Mercedes vehicle by your experienced driver/guide. You will see some spectacular scenery during your 5 days with us and we will visit some historic locations detailed in your itinerary. As this is a private tour it is for your group only and can be customised within reason of distance. Discover the mystery surrounding Loch Ness on a 1-hour cruise from Clansman Harbour. Situated only a twenty minutes’ drive from central Inverness, Loch Ness is one of the world’s most famous lakes. Climb aboard a cruise boat and make your way across the mysterious loch, taking in awe-inspiring natural vistas of lush greenery and rambling hills. Admire views of the romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle and, with the boat’s sonar system, join in the quest for the loch’s most famous resident, Nessie, the 'Loch Ness Monster.'

During your tour you will see some beautiful Scottish scenery. Our first stop of the day is Clava Cairns followed by Culloden Battlefield. You may wish to walk the battlefield for free or choose to pay entry into the visitor centre. We will visit Urquhart Castle which is located on the shore of Loch Ness. Our final stop of the day is Beauly Priory with is one of three priories founded in Scotland in about 1230 for monks of the Valliscaulian order. We will stop along the way for lunch, the location can be agreed on the day.

You will be picked up and dropped off at Invergordon cruise port. As this is a private tour you will have flexibility to amend the tour within reason, please note this is required to be done in advance of your tour date. Time permitting we may also manage to fit in a tasting at The Singleton or Glen Ord Distillery on request.

We provide private, personalised tours. We have lived here all our lives and know the Highlands as only a local would. We have spent many years guiding visitors to the most stunning, photogenic places in the Highlands. We know and take pride in this land we call home, and we are eager to share it with you.

Collecting you from the Port gate we travel along the shore of the Cromarty Firth and cross the Cromarty bridge to the Black Isle and make our way to Beauly Priory , the 13th century Monastery built for an order of Valliscaulian monks from Dijon in France and destroyed by Cromwells forces in the 16th Century. We will then make a brief stop to see some Highland Cattle ( see photo ) before we carry on over Culnakirk Hill to Drumnadrochit and visit Urquhart Castle which sits on a promontory jutting out in to Loch Ness , the views of the Loch are fantastic from here and it was near here where St Columba is reputed to have seen the Loch Ness Monster. We then head towards Inverness and as we come in to Inverness we pass the Hill of the Fairies. We stop to see the Cathedral and The Old High Church and we pass Inverness Castle and the statue of Flora Macdonald before we travel out to Clava Cairns and have lunch at Cawdor Castle before concluding our tour at Culloden Battlefield.
