OTOMO Travel Guide

From History to Subculture: Akihabara & Ueno Must-See Tour!

USD 109.09

Akihabara and Ueno, which are popular with tourists, are very unique areas with completely different atmospheres and characteristics, even though they are adjacent to each other.

Akihabara is famous as the mecca of Japanese subculture, including manga, anime, and video games. It is also widely known as Japan's number one electronics town.
Ueno, on the other hand, has a strong image of nature and culture today, with its Ueno Zoological Gardens, National Museum, but historically, it was a place with very close ties to the Tokugawa family. It is also a lively town of common people where the atmosphere of those days remains, such as the shopping streets derived from the postwar black market.

Let's go on a walk around Akihabara and Ueno that can be enjoyed by both adults and children!

[Visit Spots]
・Akihabara Electric Town
・Don Quijote
・Manseibashi Bridge
・The old Manseibashi station
・Kanda Myojin Shrine
・Ameyoko Shopping Street
・Ueno Park
・Shinobazu-no-ike Bentendo
・Ueno Toshogu Shrine

New Adventure@Tokyo

Private walking Tour in Tokyo with a Local Guide

USD 42.97

This is a private walking tour of approximately 3 hours.
(You might use public transportation.)

Tokyo is well served by public transport, making it very convenient for tourists to get around the city centre. However, it could sometimes be complex, and English signs (product instructions, etc.) are supplementary so international tourists might get confused at first.

I, a curious Japanese guide who has lived in Tokyo for many years, customise wherever you'd like to go or offer local places. And when I pick you up, I tell you how to use public transport most conveniently. Exciting experiences in Japan are hidden in such seemingly inconvenient places for tourists!

For example, going to Ueno Park which has been a favourite leafy place for Japanese people since the Edo period (1603-1868), or visiting other local areas by tram is the only one in Tokyo. You can go to 'Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO & Pikachu Sweets' by tram if you'd like.
