Akihabara is famous as the mecca of Japanese subculture, including manga, anime, and video games. It is also widely known as Japan's number one electronics town.
Ueno, on the other hand, has a strong image of nature and culture today, with its Ueno Zoological Gardens, National Museum, but historically, it was a place with very close ties to the Tokugawa family. It is also a lively town of common people where the atmosphere of those days remains, such as the shopping streets derived from the postwar black market.

For example, going to Ueno Park which has been a favourite leafy place for Japanese people since the Edo period (1603-1868), or visiting other local areas by tram is the only one in Tokyo. You can go to 'Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO ＆ Pikachu Sweets' by tram if you'd like.
