The vehicle reaches an altitude of 1,200 meters on asphalted road where there is a cafeteria and ski center. In addition, it is possible to reach 1400 meters by liftchairs.

The name Petrohué is of Mapudungun origin and means place of smokehouses. This denomination perhaps refers to the kind of steam that is formed with the resounding fall of the water that sprays on the rocks in the background.

The highest drop of this geological formation is 3 meters and its waters are emerald in color.

Our excursion starts from the beautiful city of Puerto Varas, bordering the Llanquihue Lake. On the way we will be able to see the mouth of Rio Pescado and surroundings until we reach Ensenada, a small town from where we will start the ascent to the Osorno Volcano. We will stop at different points of attraction, such as the Crater La Burbuja and the Mirador Los Pumas until we reach the Osorno Volcano Ski and Mountain Center, located at 1,240 meters of altitude.
