We will embark on a journey to the town of El Chaltén (National Capital of Trekking), located 220 km from El Calafate. During our journey, we will cross the Santa Cruz River and make a brief stop at Estancia La Leona. We will then continue our journey to El Chaltén, skirting the Viedma Lake with its homonymous glacier. Weather permitting, you will have breathtaking views of Mount Chaltén and Mount Torre, as well as the Viedma Glacier and its stunning icebergs.
Upon arrival in Chaltén, you will have 5 hours to explore and enjoy this small mountain village.
Available year-round and ideal for those who prefer a less demanding hike. Visit the Mirador de los Cóndores, approximately 700 meters away with low difficulty, and the Chorrillo del Salto, a completely flat 300-meter walk. You will be accompanied by a guide.

The excursion begins early in the morning from El Calafate. We take the mythic Route 40, that goes along the Argentino Lake up to La Leona river. We will pass by the canyon with the same name “Cañadón La Leona” and after 1.15 h ride we will make a short stop at an ancient route hotel "La Leona", almost a museum of the Route 40.
Our trip continues along the Lake Viedma, from where we will have magical views of glaciers, hidden lakes and the overpowering presence of the Mount Fitz Roy.
After arriving at Chalten we continue our ride to Lago del Desierto taking the route that borders the Río de las Vueltas taking us deeper into the Lengas and Nires forest. The road ends after one hour ride and 37 kms up to the North arriving at Lago del Desierto. From the pier Punta Sur we'll take a 20 minute boat ride to the natural reserve Vespignani from where 3 self-guided paths take us to the best miradors of Vespignani Glacier and the north face of Mount Fitz Roy.

This experience combines navigation and trekking to discover the great Vespignani Glacier, in the Lago del Desierto provincial reserve.

The activity begins with the pick up from your hotel in El Calafate. We travel 37 kilometers along a gravel road until we reach the Punta Sur pier. We begin to navigate the Lago del Desierto for 30 minutes, enjoying the views of the Huemul and Crestón Glaciers.

We disembark in the Vespignani Glacier sector, where 4 trails of different difficulties await you. In total, you have 2 free hours to visit the ones you like the most.

The Red trail, with a 200-meter drop and 2 km of travel, brings you closer to the foot of the Great Vespignani Glacier in an hour, adding an incredible view of the north face of Cerro Fitz Roy.

The Yellow trail, with a drop of only 50 meters in 1 km, with a view of the Great Vespignani Glacier.
