Please remember that bioluminescence is a natural occurrence with varying brightness. To enhance the experience, we use a tarp to minimize any interference on high-light pollution nights.

Sargassum is a free-floating seaweed abundant in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. While these large ecosystems are harmless and beneficial to ocean life, they frequently wash up on our shores and can sometimes smell.

All odd-numbered groups or solo kayakers will be paired up during the tour. - You will get wet!

Kayaks have a weight limit of 220 lbs. per person. (NO exclusions) To assure weight restriction is met, guests will be weighed on-site.

- All guests must be able to row their kayaks by themselves. One of the requirements is that you are able to get in and out of the kayak on your own and be able to maneuver it. If you are an unexperienced kayaker we highly suggest you choose the earlier tour.

Come on the only tour that has a Marine Biologist as your tour guide. They will explain all the processes involved and the unique conditions required for this supernatural phenomena to occur. Your marine biologist will also explain how this delicate ecosystem maintains a pure balance and what must be done to preserve and protect the Bio Bay “Laguna Grande." It is a very special place on Planet Earth! All gear, snacks, pictures and kayak lessons are included. Minimum age  is 6 years old. Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on any of our tours.

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel or location, (contact us for confirmation). Exposition regarding our Puerto Rican heritage, and live commentary and interpretation of your surroundings can be given in both English and Spanish throughout the journey. Once we arrive at the Rainforest, we will take a nature walk path (watch out for wet, uneven terrain) through the flora until reaching the river stream. Do not forget your towel and swimsuit! (Swimming is dependent on weather conditions) After this time, we head back to your lodgings.

What should I wear?
Come prepared to get wet from your waist down. Lightweight, synthetic clothing or a swimsuit is the best. Do not walk bare foot on the beach for safety reasons.
What to bring?
Change of clothes, towel and mosquito repellent (just in case!). You can bring cameras only with water proof bag or water proof case.

Avoid wearing jeans or sweats. Don’t bring any valuables you don’t want to get wet, lose or damage.
