The Lower Loop tour begins in Gardiner, Montana and begins heading south. Depending on external conditions, guide recommendation, and client preference, we can head either way around the loop.. We have extensive experience in navigating popular features and making it easier to fit them into our itinerary. From here, we make our way to some incredible thermal features and many of the most popular thermal basins. After a morning of visiting many of the thermal features between the Midway and Lower Basins, we'll head to the most iconic feature in Yellowstone, Old Faithful. From there we will travel over Craig Pass to Yellowstone Lake. Stopping at the West Thumb Thermal Basin; a thermal basin with unique structure and history. Then we will travel past Fishing Bridge. Next passing through Hayden valley to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, visiting the Upper and Lower Falls, and Artisan's Point. From there the tour returns to Gardiner, Montana, additional destinations may be possible.

If you only have one day to visit Yellowstone, this 1-day, 200+ mile private tour of Yellowstone’s Lower Loop is the tour to take. After departing Jackson, we’ll drive north through Grand Teton National Park while transiting to Yellowstone, making several stops to take photos, admire wildlife, and take advantage of the Flagg Ranch restrooms. Using bathrooms with running water is simply how we roll. We’ll then enter Yellowstone through the South Entrance just a little before 9 AM. From there, we’ll continue driving north to West Thumb Geyser Basin, then to the famous Lake Yellowstone Hotel for a short coffee break. We’ll continue traveling north from the hotel to admire the Mud Volcano, Hayden Valley, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone before taking a lunch break at Canyon Village. Our Picnic Paddle is a 6 mile adventure great for couples, families and friends. Choose from a single kayak, tandem or even a triple! After a brief orientation, your guide will lead your group along the shore of Yellowstone Lake, escorting you to West Thumb Geyser Basin. We take multiple breaks at scenic points along the route to stretch our legs and experience the grandeur of the lake. Our Winter and Summer Safaris are led by a wildlife biologist with years of experience guiding in Yellowstone. During the Winter we will focus on wolf watching, viewing moose, bison, elk, coyote, etc.

We will depart your accommodations and head towards Yellowstone’s northern range, undoubtedly one of the prime wildlife viewing spots in the world, it harbors impressive bison herds, wolf packs, and meandering bears. Visitors are likely to depart from the park’s northern lands with at least one, if not more, checks on their wildlife card. Wild and pristine. When thinking about Yellowstone, a vast and amazing back-country, large carnivores, bison herds, iconic geysers, and geothermal features fill the imagination.

This Active Van Tour is a great way to see Yellowstone National Park beginning in the fun gateway town of West Yellowstone. The early morning part of the tour explores wildlife haunts in the famous Shadow Canyon of the Madison River. This area is home to bear and elk. Later we hike to an overlook of the famous Grand Prismatic Hot Springs. If you don't feel like walking we find a safe, scenic spot for you to wait for the group near the van. Next we explore the Old Faithful area, including some time at the famous Old Faithful Inn. We continue over the continental divide at Isa Lake and down to the West Thumb Geyser Basin on Yellowstone Lake for a view of some spectacular lakeside thermal pools. Continuing our drive along Yellowstone Lake we arrive in the Hayden Valley where big herds of bison roam. Finally, we arrive at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the canyon and the amazing falls (one is almost 200 feet tall!). The day concludes back at West Yellowstone.

It is a private tour that holds up to 14 passengers and primarily takes you on either the Lower or Upper Loop of Yellowstone. Wildlife is the focus as we tour your party through Hayden Valley, Gibbon Valley, and/or the famed Lamar Valley: The 'American Serengeti'. We will have a discussion about the best route for your group to enjoy before the tour based on your needs and what we know in the area. Thanks!
